HERB'S BIO

Herb Winches is a graduate of Jacksonville State University where he earned a football scholarship and played running back. His senior year Herb help lead Jacksonville State to its only undefeated team in school history at 11-0 and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player his senior season.
Winches has spent some 30 years in the Birmingham television and radio market and now serves as the Sports Director on CBS 42 News at 10pm. Herb has been named Associated Press Sportscaster of the Year 5 times.

Winches is married to Dr. Betty Winches and they have two children and make their home in Hoover, Alabama
